Seventy-Six Realtors, a new record, were awarded the Top Producer Club designation by the Staten Island Board of Realtors (SIBOR) for their sales production in 2004. The awards were presented at a luncheon at The Staaten on March 31st. Of the 76 designees, 33 were repeat award winners from the previous year.
The SIBOR Top Producer Club awards program was initiated in 2000 to honor agents for productivity. The awards are based on a combination of the number of transaction sides and sold/lease dollar volume. Transactions had to close in 2004.
The awards luncheon was sponsored by SIBOR Affiliate member Tom Gumb of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage.
There were 26 awards granted in the top "Gold" category, 13 in the "Silver" category and 37 in the "Bronze" category. A distinction is made between individual awards and those representing "Teams" made up of a lead agent and licensed assistants.
SIBOR President Sari Kingsley praised the recipients, "The Top Producers exemplify the dedication that is required to succeed. Their internal motivation, abundance of energy, focused goals and ability to recognize the ever-changing landscape of real estate makes them special. Top Producers serve the community well, network, follow up and build long-term relationships that generate an on-going referral base. Congratulations to all Top Producers on your personal and professional achievement as Realtors."

The awards process was overseen by Realtors Neil Litvin of Robert DeFalco Realty, Scott Dobrin of Exit Realty, Linda Castelli of Realty Pros, and SIBOR CEO Sandy Krueger. Mr Litvin said, "These people are Realtors in the true sense of the word. They not only do a lot of business, but they know how to build on that business and take it to the next step. It's gratifying to see the level of enthusiasm building for the Top Producer awards."
Mr. Dobrin added, "Taking advantage of these kinds of designations is good self promotion and investing in the long term. Success breeds more success and it exemplifies itself in the large number of total award winners and repeat winners on the list."
Ms. Castelli said "I'm happy to see so many more people taking advantage of the Top Producer awards this year. Realtors should display their awards proudly. It indicates a high-level of performance and professionalism within the industry."
Sandy Krueger added, “I congratulate and salute all of these fine professionals. One of the marks of a true sales professional is the ability to take advantage of opportunities to market yourself. These folks, by applying for the Top Producer designation, show me that they have what it takes. I'm a little disappointed that many other SIBOR Realtors, who would have qualified for the designation, didn't bother to apply. They are missing an opportunity. When you're good at what you do, you need to let the world know, particularly as a sales professional. I challenge those folks to start collecting the necessary paperwork today for the 2005 designation. If they earn it, they should get it.”
The 2004 Gold level designation required a minimum of $5 million in sales dollar volume and 30 sale credits (one credit for being the listing agent on a sale or long term lease, one credit for being the selling agent on a sale or long term lease) or alternatively at least 85 sale credits; the Silver level designation required a minimum of $3.5 million in sales volume and 24 sale credits or alternatively at least 68 sale credits; the Bronze level designation required a minimum of $2 million in sales volume and 18 sale credits or alternatively at least 28 sale credits. The dollars allocated to each transaction were 50 percent of the full sales amount for the listing side and 50 percent for the selling side. Up to three credits could be earned through association participation, RPAC contributions and new professional designations.
